About Me

I started riding MTB at a pretty young age, and grew up in an area with plenty of classic Mountain Bike territory in the south of England. The addition of a healthy race scene all a stones throw from our house with the vibrant Gorrick MBC races meant racing mountain bikes was probably inevitable! The first race I can remember was in Yateley Heath woods, which must have been around 1993.

A move to Sweden with partner Malin in 2010 brought about many changes, and a return to serious racing in 2011 in age-related categories gave me a good motivational boost to lose some weight and improve my training regime.

Two children and several years later both me and my wife Malin have some great results to show for our graft, including several cup wins in Sweden and Denmark, some national podiums in Sweden and Great Britain, plus some other international success.

Now I have two years left in the H30 (Masters) category in MTB XC to reach my goal of becoming a National Champion. Which country it will be in is yet to be played out. This is my blog to tell the story of my 2017 season.
